LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

University of Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham is arguably one of the most explosive offensive players in college football.

“Just want to be better for myself,” Cunningham said. “Not necessarily looking at [quarterback] rankings because, like I said, that’s your [media] jobs. So, I can only control what I can control.”

Cunningham will be the Cards’ full-time starting quarterback for the fourth straight season. He did appear in 10 games, though, during the 2018 season.

“I feel I’ve been a lot more patient than ever,” Cunningham said. “It just goes back to the guys up front.”

That may prove to be scary for opposing defenses because Cunningham is coming off a year in which he lit up the stat sheet.

He threw for 2,941 yards and 19 passing touchdowns, along with six interceptions, last season. In addition, he rushed for 1,031 yards and had 20 rushing touchdowns.
